HOW DO I...
Obtain Telephone Advice/Results Of Tests?

When telephoning the surgery for test results please do so between 3.00 and 5.30pm when the test results line is open. If you need to speak to your doctor, please telephone between 12 noon and 1.00pm. Should your doctor be with a patient, you will be asked to leave your number for a return call.

HOW DO I...
Make An Appointment For A Surgery Consultation?

We operate open surgeries every day. On the day that you wish to see the doctor, please telephone the surgery after 8.30am to make an appointment.

The receptionist will do her best to give you an appointment with the doctor of your choice. However, due to demand, this may not be possible and you may be offered an appointment with a different doctor.

Appointments can still be made in advance to see a practice nurse and midwife, and for minor surgery and coil fitting.

HOW DO I...
Make An Appointment For A Telephone Consultation?

Each day , one of our doctors operates as "duty doctor" to provide telephone consultations for patients who want advice from their GP but are either infectious (e'g. COmmon cold, seasonal or "swine" flu, diarrohea and vomiting, chickenpox etc) or believe they might need a face to face consultation (e.g. a medication or general health query)

If the duty doctor thinks you should see someone then you will be asked to come to the surgery or a home visit arranged if appropriate, otherwise advise and guidance will be given without needing to physically come to the surgery.

HOW DO I...
Obtain Home Visits?

The doctors will only make visits to those patients who are either housebound or unfit to travel. If you feel that you need a home visit please telephone the surgery after 9.00am to leave your details with the receptionist. A doctor will telephone you during the morning to discuss your symptoms, issue advice, arrange medication or agree a visit as appropriate.

HOW DO I...
Obtain Repeat Prescriptions?

Requests for repeat prescriptions CANNOT be taken over the telephone or by fax.

Please send or bring in your computer request slip two full days before you need your medication. If you include a stamped, addressed envelope, we will post out your prescription. Periodically, your doctor will invite you to come into the surgery to re-assess your medication.

HOW DO I...
Register?

If you live within the catchment area of the practice (see map page) you may register at the surgery as a patient. Please call at reception with a photo ID and second proof of address and the receptionist will help you complete a registration form.
