Surgery Opening Hours

Reception open Monday-Friday 9.00am - 6.30pm.
Appointments are available Monday-Friday in the morning from 9.00am - 12 noon and on each afternoon from 3.30 - 5.30pm.

Our telephone lines are open for emergency calls Monday to Friday form 8.00am and for all calls between 8.30am and 6.30pm. Outside of these hours our phone system will divert you to the Primary Care Trust's "out of hours" doctor service. Our busiest times on the phones are from 8.30am and 2.30pm so for routine enquiries please try after these times.

Welcome To The Practice

Milton Surgery is a long established practice in a residential area of Weston-super-Mare. There are six general practitioners, a GP registrar, three practice nurses, one healthcare assistant, a phlebotomist and an administrative team consisting of a practice manager, two secretaries, five receptionists and three clerical officers.
Disabled access to the surgery is good and there is plenty of parking nearby.

Surgery Telephone System

Our 0844 477 1837 is a local rate "non-geographical" number which our provider charges the same rate as a BT local rate call. Your own telephone provider may treat this number like any other "geographical" local rate (e.g 01934) number but some choose not to and either exclude them from "free local call" packages or charge their customers a premium( this is your provider's own commercial decision and neither the practice nor our provider benefits from this).

The Government held a public consultation in 2009 on this and hopefully will introduce a legislation to prevent home phone providers from treating 0844 numbers differently to geographic local rate numbers.

Calls from a mobile will be higher; please check with your service provider.

Practice News and Notices

Spring 2010:

 

Building work progresses on the new training suite at the Back of the surgery.  This 4 room consutation suite will be used for registrar, Physician Assistant and other training from the summer onwards when we will take on 2 new registrars

Staff Changes

Dr Edrich gave birth to a healthy baby boy in the middle of February and Dr Smith continues to recover from his operation and looks forward to coming back later in the year.
